Why You Should Use the Wood Line of Skincare During Energetic Spring Even If You Don’t Have the Wood Skin Conditi

February 15, 2022 phyto5.us
five women of different complexions each representing one of the five elements

All five energies according to traditional Chinese medicine—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water—are synergistically at work in the proper function of cells and healthy tissues. In traditional Chinese medicine, Wood is one of the five aspects of vital energy and is fundamental to the optimal function of the other four.

The body is not just matter made up of solids and fluids but unseen energy known as vital energy also courses through it. This vital energy is called prana in yoga and Ayurvedic medicine and chi in traditional Chinese medicine and by practitioners of Asian martial arts. This ancient concept is also a modern one as it is now demonstrated by quantum physics.

The skin is actually a vital organ possessing reflexive properties which correlate to the body’s organs. This is because vital energy connects all parts of the body to each other. PHYTO5 utilizes the reflexiveness of skin to practice facial reflexology demonstrated by the Five Clay Mask quantum energetic facial.

A Wood imbalance usually manifests as:

  • oily skin, blackheads, and hyperpigmentation

  • oily scalp and hair

  • issues of vital energy circulation meaning the flow of vital energy is either impeded or overactive

  • emotions of anger and/or anxiety.*

If you have any of these Wood imbalances, this means your body might be out of balance with its vital energy flow.

Any skin condition, for that matter, likely has a root cause in vital energy imbalance or blockage of vital energy flow. And your skin condition can actually help to pinpoint where you have that imbalance or blockage.

Traditional Chinese medicine tells us that in addition to five seasons, five elements, five basic emotions and five sets of skin conditions, the body is host to five major fluids, four of which are clearly matter:

  • the Fire element’s red blood

  • the Metal element’s blue blood

  • the Earth element’s lymph, and

  • the Water element’s water.

The other fluid of the Wood element is simply energy—vital energy.

You could say it is the energy of the energy because without Wood energy nothing else happens. This is why, in any series of esthetic treatments which follow the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, the Wood treatment is always the first one we do. It ensures that the initiating energy is balanced because it must be before we go on to balancing the other four fluids.

By stimulating vital energy flow we give energy to the cells. If cells aren’t properly nourished, including being nourished with vital energy, the body begins breaking down.

A burst of yang energy occurs during energetic Spring, the season of the Wood element, and it’s important to encourage this expanding and rising of yang whatever element ‘type’** we may be. During energetic Spring the burst of yang energy drives the growth and vitality of the body.

For these reasons, youth is associated with the vital energy of Wood.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the Wood element’s color is green—the color associated with Spring, new life, vitality and growth. PHYTO5’s Wood line labeling features this color. And green is prominent in our naturally colored quantum energetic Wood element green Clay Mask itself.

We want to make sure our vital energy is stimulated when it needs to be and kept in balance since it fundamentally supports the other four vital energies. An energetic deficiency left untreated for any length of time invites others, and problems will then accumulate exponentially.

For example, an imbalance of Wood vital energy causes sluggish Fire (both are part of strong yang with limited yin energies). Insufficient Wood and Fire allows Metal (growing yin energy) to be too strong, keeping Wood weak (since Metal is the break of Wood) while it augments Water which also maintains Fire weakness. But Water, being the peak yin energy, is not likely to strengthen the rising yang energy of Wood and so the original condition is maintained or even worsened.

The cure is a stimulation of yang vital energy and a diffusion of overbearing yin vital energy. And this is the reason why all esthetic treatments addressing a difficult situation should always start with a Wood treatment followed by a Fire treatment, then Earth, Metal and finally by a Water treatment, each treatment taking place two to three days after the previous one.

To support your balance at home of skin, vital energy and emotions, be sure to use the Wood line periodically and especially during the Spring energetic season which runs from February 5 to April 17 every year.

The entire Wood line is quantum energetic*** and will work to support your vital energy balanced flow, but if you have to choose only one product, choose Wood element Phyt’Ether serum, the most potent in the line.

Endnotes:

* In traditional Chinese medicine, there is an ancestral knowledge that each major emotion has a seat within an organ. For example, anger is an emotion linked to liver. Chronically angry people will not, as a result, have healthy livers even if their diet is otherwise perfect. Consequently, they may display the physical symptoms of a Wood energetic imbalance as well as emotions of anger and/or anxiety.

**The five element ‘types’ are well described in a number of our blogs:

  • The Earth Type Personality According to Traditional Chinese Medicine: Understanding Your Archetype for Harmony and Balance

Here, in Fleurier, the gorges of Poëta-Raisse and l'Areuse and the grottos of Môtiers are each an expression of the sheer power and purity of spring water endlessly flowing century after century carving narrow passages through the rocks. This same water is in all PHYTO5 skincare. Additionally, even before this water is added to any PHYTO5 skincare formulation, we run the water through high tech filters to “extra-purification.”

The birth town of PHYTO5, Fleurier, meaning 'one that flowers,' is truly ground zero for purity... "Swiss-Made..." and our company.

In the late 70s, we at PHYTO5 understood that we are more than the physical matter that makes up our flesh, bone and blood and that there is also a current of unseen vital energy coursing through our bodies constantly animating and vitalizing our beings.

And we realized and later proved that we could formulate skincare that synchronized with and uplifted this vital energy.

We did this by introducing high vibratory frequency to skin via high grade essential oils.

We then went beyond what other skincare formulators did with essential oils by blending them in a way that created more than uplifting energy—

it created a high vibratory synergy.

We believed then and now in the healing philosophy of the Five Element Theory of traditional Chinese medicine. Each of the five elements in this theory identifies with a season and a set of skin conditions.

We apply this theory to these synergistic blends of essential oils to target and balance the five sets of skin conditions.

We next elevated our singularly distinctive five element lines to a still higher level known as QUANTUM through a proprietary process we believe is unique in all the world.

It's this quantum aspect of PHYTO5 that also exquisitely touches and elevates your center of emotions.

PHYTO5's organic certified Ageless La Cure line also brings you the benefits of essential oil rich formulations…

...and so does PHYTO5's 'Swiss line' of traditional phytoceutical skincare products.

The high grade essential oils used in PHYTO5 skin and hair care are our HERO INGREDIENTS. PHYTO5's hero ingredients also include high tech natural compounds, flower and plant extracts and waters, organic oils, minerals, vitamins, tree butters and more.

The PHYTO5 philosophy and concept are not duplicated anywhere in the world

Quantum Medicine: A Modern Evolution of Energy Medicines

November 7, 2017 phyto5.us
quantum_fractal_face.jpeg

The building blocks of the body’s vital matter are small bundles of energy called quanta. When we understand the body’s made of quanta, we see with a whole new vision. We look at illness with new eyes. And we understand the practice and outcomes of energetic healing therapies on a more profound level. We seek to match quantum medicine with a quantum body and that makes a great deal of sense.

Quantum Medicine: Foundation of All Energy Medicine Practices

Energy medicines understand the body is not simply matter but vital energy as well.

The New Oxford American Dictionary defines vital as:

  1. indispensable to the continuance of life, and

  2. full of energy.

It’s vital energy that makes matter vital. Health requires a proper flow of vital energy. Impede vital energy flow and you cause not just physical discomfort but disease.

Cellular biochemical exchange doesn’t determine our state of health. Our cells exchange electromagnetic information with each other bears directly on our health. And this kind of communication is the essence of quantum medicine.

Quantum Medicine: Informational In Nature

All things vibrate. Plants, animals, humans, rocks and rivers all vibrate. Our physical senses are not able to perceive the vibrational aspect of matter because of the speed of energy movement.

All matter is energy. Everything has a vibrational frequency which can be measured in hertz (Hz).

Scientists have researched electromagnetic frequencies for over a century. As modern biofeedback equipment continues to improve, researchers are able to more and more precisely measure the subtle energy of our vital energy.

Quantum medicine suggests two things:

  1. Vital energy carries information.

  2. The information is intelligent.

This intelligence implies that some part of our being knows. That knowledge is within ourselves. It’s the knowledge of our Higher Self, the ultimate Observer.

A disease is not simply a biological problem as generally seen by Contemporary Western medicine views disease as a biological problem. In fact, quantum medicine indicates it’s a lack or block in the free flow of information exchange carried by vital energy flow that creates disease.

We all possess an innate intelligence that directs and regulates our biological functions. And quantum medicine draws on and responds to that innate intelligence.

A non-material aspect, call it intention or consciousness, seems to affect the outcome of both matter and energy. The action of the observer affects the outcome of the observation. Quantum physicists have proven this in the laboratory.

Quantum medicine accepts and counts on a patient’s natural propensity for auto-regeneration. Once you restore the previously obstructed flow of intelligent information, an energetic coherence occurs and it heals.

Quantum Medicine: Biodynamic Healer

We see Albert Einstein's famous equation E=mc2 as precursor to quantum medicine. Translate it as: “Matter and energy are interchangeable,” and further that “Matter is energy in motion.”

Quantum medicine forces us to no longer see the body merely as a complex of organs and tissues where we treat each separately.

Quantum medicine pushes us to see the body as a complex of constantly vibrating electromagnetic fields. Trillions of biophotonic particles of light circulate in these electromagnetic fields within our physical and energetic bodies.

They carry necessary information to maintain homeostasis (the ability of the body or a cell to seek and maintain a condition of equilibrium or stability). This is their purpose.

Quantum medicine therapies use a variety of biodynamic frequencies (frequencies that promote physiological functions) to reset the information flow. This vibrational correction we call bio-resonance.

The subatomic is the realm even more fundamental than the atom. Quantum physics and the work of Albert Einstein concerning the nature and behavior of light focused on this level.

They discovered there aren’t smaller amounts of matter but small quantities of energy (quanta of energy) in constant vibration.

This enables us to conclude that the building blocks of matter are energy in movement determined by specific frequencies.

To each organ, tissue, and cell corresponds a specific energy (thus a specific frequency and electromagnetic field). An analogy is the mobile phone assigned its own number for purposes of connection and identification.

Quantum Medicine: Influenced by Quantum Physics

The findings of quantum physics influenced quantum medicine in a number of ways.

The Observer concept mentioned earlier is one. It requires us to accept the effect of mind over matter.

Practitioners of oriental martial arts and yoga know that where their attention and intention go so does their energy.

Similarly, many quantum scientists believe consciousness influences matter. This gives light to Deepak Chopra’s quote from his seminal book, “Quantum Healing: Exploring the Frontiers of Mind/Body Medicine:”

Quantum healing moves away from external, high-technology methods towards the deepest core of the mind-body system. This core is where healing begins. To go there and learn to promote the healing response, you must get past all the grosser levels of the body–cells, tissues, organs, and systems–and arrive at the junction point between mind and matter, the point where consciousness actually starts to have an effect.

So many quantum mechanics finding over the last few decades hold strong implications for quantum medicine. They completely justify ancestral energy medicine precepts, particularly those of traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda of India.

Quantum Medicine: Pseudo Medicine?

Google searches for quantum medicine will often suggest quantum medicine is pseudo–science or quackery.

Remember that we’ve all heard the same comments about chiropractic, acupuncture, homeopathy, naturopathy, and reiki which are well accepted today.

Science generally proceeds with new and disturbing empirical observations that can be proven only at a later date. This is why, in general, they’re slowly accepted.

Many scientists continue to dispute quantum physics, yet without its findings, we would have no iPhones, smart televisons, or GPS in our cars.

Emotional Mastery and Your Wei Chi

May 10, 2017 phyto5.us
Mind.jpg

We learned in school that matter is tangible, visible, solid, and real. There is ample empirical evidence to support this fact. Hardly anyone would dispute this.

We were also told that matter is made of molecules which are made of atoms composed of smaller particles such as neutrons, protons, and electrons, all assumed to be physical. And yet, we learn from quantum physics that all this is wrong although the public at large has not yet adjusted to that thinking.

What we think of matter is, in reality, made of nothing material, tangible, or visible.

  • The quantum reality is that atoms are made of vortices of energy spinning and vibrating in their own particular way.

  • Each one has a vibrating pattern that is unique, providing its own particular energetic signature.

  • Atoms have no physical structure, therefore, physical things have no physical parts.

We’ve also learned from the discoveries of quantum physics and quantum mechanics that we create our own reality. The observer of a quantum experiment will affect its outcome by the simple act of observing.

This has led quantum scientists to conclude that our world, from our individual experience to our collective one, is a mental construction. The planet and the entire universe are the outcome of the collective consciousness of humanity.

In 2015, the Dalai Lama spoke at an international quantum physics conference in India: "I hope conferences such as this one address two purposes: extending our knowledge and improving our view of reality so we can better tackle our disturbing emotions.”

It’s significant to see an enlightened spiritual leader embrace the discoveries of science, feeling comfortable that no discovery, as earth-shattering as it might appear, will endanger the fundamental truth of spirituality.

A very important element of the Dalai Lama’s statement is: “improving our view of reality so we can better tackle our disturbing emotions.”

  1. We must “improve our view of reality.” This implies that our current view is not nearly as right as we’ve believed. Our belief in Terra Firm” as a bedrock of our knowledge of what is right, real, and true rests on a shaky foundation.

  2. Our “disturbing emotions” (negative emotions) have a causal effect on our view and experience of our reality.

  3. It’s imperative that we “better tackle our negative emotions.” We need to develop our emotional intelligence to achieve greater degree of mastery over our (negative) emotions.

PHYTO5 quantum energetic five-element lines of skincare align perfectly with these three keys. We formulate them according to the following principles:

  1. “The physical body is actually a complex of interwoven energy fields.” –Richard Gerber, M.D.

  2. “Beauty is health made visible,” which is PHYTO5’ founding motto.

  3. The teachings of traditional Chinese medicine concerning how to increase Wei Chi, the energy of our immune system:

    1. Our best way to enhance our source of Wei Chi is in cultivating emotionally rewarding human relationships. Such relationships, however, can’t happen if we don’t first develop self-appreciation free of negativity.

    2. We can best contain or mitigate the natural enemies of Wei Chi is by gaining mastery over our emotions. This enables us to avoid the destructive aspect of negative emotions.

Enhance Your Wei Chi to Increase Your Well-Being

May 2, 2017 phyto5.us
Buddha_Himalayas.jpg

For thousands of years, mystics have known and advocated this truth and for several recent decades, so have quantum physicists: “ALL IS ONE.” Expressed in different words, this truth is fundamental to both religion and science but the core idea is the same.

The truth that all is one is becoming clear to an increasing number of people regardless of their religion or degree of scientific education. Still, this core idea is held as truth by a minority of people.

This is evident given the degree and spread of violence, disease and disparity around the world and the many other forms of man’s inhumanity to man. Peace, vitality, equanimity and justice for all in the world will occur only when enough people understand that hurting anyone else is actually hurting oneself and that hurting the environment including our animals is destructive to ourselves.

The extent to which we feel connected to or separated from whatever we feel necessary to make us whole, happy and fulfilled, creates the root of all our emotions which, in turn, becomes the driving force in our lives.

If the absolute truth is that ALL IS ONE, the evidence of our physical senses, supported by our mental interpretation of our human situation, points exactly to the opposite. We appear totally separated from each other, and in most instances, from what we desire, be it relationships, material possessions, or conditions.

From the moment of birth, the baby separated from its mother longs to be reconnected physically and emotionally.

This is deeply embedded in all of us. It takes different forms as we grow older but it stays with us. The need to connect with others and to feel like we belong is very much a part of the human experience.

For some, the most expedient and available solution might be to belong to a street gang. But for most, there are a number of connections we feel driven to make, such as with a spouse or partner, a family, a sports or social club, a church or other place of group worship or philosophy, a professional association, or organizations celebrating ethnic or national identity.

All of these are attempts to feel connected. That feeling is key to a sense of self-actualization, contentment, and well-being.

The sense of separation is, of course, the opposite. It prevents personal fulfillment. It permeates all our endeavors and human relationships. And, as we saw in our earlier Wei Chi blogs, emotionally-nourishing human relationships are one of the few natural ways we have to improve Wei Chi, our energetic immune system.

At the same time, we learned that the “5 devils” that attack Wei Chi are the negative emotions associated with the 5 elements of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). And, here again, we are invited to emotional maturity by gaining greater mastery over our emotions. We must avoid negativity and foster positive emotions. It is incumbent on each of us to gain an awareness of our emotions–what triggers and what controls them. That is how we develop our E.Q.–our emotional quotient, commonly known as emotional intelligence.

This sense of separation is pervasive. Mystics are among the few who experience the ultimate connection–communion with their Source, whatever that might mean to each one of them. For Jesus of Nazareth, it is what caused him to say, “I and my father are one.”

Quantum physicists and others who embrace their conclusion experience intellectual communion and the satisfaction of embracing fundamental truth. Their vision, not unlike TCM’s vision, is that each one of us is made of energy and each with our own energy field that evolves in an infinite energetic substance (or field) that we call space.

A singularity of energy fields is that they can exist as a multitude within any given space. But as energy is polarized in positive and negative phases, there is an interplay between opposite energies while there is harmony with same polarity. More positive energy is elevating. More negative energy is abasing. This is our choice to make.

Now, back to wellness. We learn that we can’t ignore our emotions. They give us a clues on as to how to increase our sense of well-being, by increasing what adds to it and by eliminating what makes us feel unhappy, sorry for ourselves, fearful, or angry.

Once we have gained a fuller awareness of our emotions as a sort of guidance system, there are ways to mitigate the negative and enhance the positive.

PHYTO5 has developed one such exciting method with a new generation of wellness spa treatments.

Wei Chi and Your Three Levels of Energetic Defense

April 3, 2017 phyto5.us
Feeling.jpg

According to traditional Chinese medicine (TMC), Wei Chi is protector of your outer energy field (aura). It also protects the superficial layers of the body–the skin. Any pathogen that will eventually attack the physical body needs to first defeat Wei Chi by penetrating your aura and going past it through the skin layers. Wei Chi is the energy of your immune system and guardian of your health according to TCM.

These are the four sources of Wei Chi:

  1. ancestral energy over which we have no control;

  2. lifestyle over which we have partial control;

  3. environment over which we have partial control;

  4. our positive emotional relationships over which we should be able to have the greatest influence.

Wei Chi has natural enemies.

The first group of Wei Chi’s natural enemies traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) calls the five “devils.” These are essentially climatic conditions over which we have limited to no control.

The second group of enemies is composed of the negative effect of any of TCM’s five fundamental emotions. Negative points to an excess or imbalance in that emotion.

Each of the five emotions corresponds to one of the five elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water). Each emotion is like a coin with two faces. It has a positive and a negative side.

This is key: The negative aspect of each emotion diminishes Wei Chi while the positive side of each one of them becomes our greatest opportunity to strengthen our wei chi.

Partake of the mystique of quantum energetic formulated plant-based skincare for your exalted natural beauty and well-being. Subscribe for a discount promo code, plus get truly unique beauty tips and offers.

Thank you!

The source of Wei Chi we have the most control over relates to our emotional intelligence.

It encompasses an ability to minimize the negative while increasing the positive aspects of our emotional life. This nourishes our Wei Chi and ultimately, our immune system.

Good Wei Chi flow literally keeps us out of the doctor's office.

In the late 70s, PHYTO5 was foundedon the slogan, “Beauty is health made visible.” Updating it for today we say: “Beauty is well-being made visible.”

This motto is an expression of the PHYTO5 philosophy and mission. It’s the logical outcome of its deep roots in TCM that take into consideration all the elements that make up our being.

Poor eating, poor breathing, lack of movement, climatic aggressions, or destructive emotions, significantly weaken Wei Chi and our immune system to the point it might no longer be able to prevent pathogens from reaching deeper into the physical body.

Fortunately, as TCM tells us, there are not one but four different energetic protection levels.

If the first level of wei chi fails, the second level of protection is the chi which flows through the body along meridians or pathways of vital energy.

There are five basic functions attributed to Chi:

  1. movement

  2. warmth

  3. protection

  4. transformation, and

  5. support.

When pathogens pierce through Wei Chi to attack your chi, the illness becomes more stubborn. You experience more pronounced physical and emotional disturbance although it’s not life-threatening.

Once the illness goes deeper, it affects the vital energy of the third level of defense, the blood.

According to TCM, blood functions energetically. This function goes beyond arterial and venous circulation. It includes the movement of other fluids from the hormonal glands and the transport of nutrients, among others.

Should this master transportation system break down, the body enters a chronic illness level with severe health and emotional consequences. Pain is deeper and more prolonged.

From this one and the next level, the body might never return to full health. Containment and mitigation might be the best available outcome.

Any worsening leads to an attack on the fourth level of defense, the energy of the organs.

What’s at stake at this level is organ survival. A defeated organic chi creates a domino effect or negative spiral since each organ affects the proper function of all the others. When any organ is under siege, it deeply affects how we feel in all aspects of life.

At all levels, but particularly the third and fourth, illness is not limited to the physical aspects.

Addressing psychological, emotional, and spiritual issues are the only way to bring all aspects of our being now under siege into restored healthy alignment.

In this state, achieving wellness might be a distant dream.

At the fourth level, survival becomes the ultimate objective.

Pain management is a moment-to-moment concern. Healing through the restoration of chi within the entire body requires appropriate holistic treatment.

In other words, a comprehensive holistic approach to getting well is absolutely required.

Back to Basics: Five Key Ideas On Energy and Consciousness

November 29, 2016 phyto5.us

There are five fundamental keys undergirding energy and consciousness. When you embrace these keys you get to enjoy greater health of every kind—physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

First, the body is not simply matter but is what is known as vital energy as well.

In fact, it’s vital energy that makes vital matter, vital.

Second, everything has an energy field.

Third, we are not simply physical. We live within a number of additional dimensions or aspects of our being, and each aspect creates a specific energy field.

Each field is more or less strong depending on how important that aspect of our being is. This includes our physical body, our emotions, our thoughts, and our beliefs. It covers the physical, the psychological, the mental, and the spiritual realms.

As a result, we are a symphony of energy fields.

Each one of us is like a musical band playing its own particular music more or less loud, more or less melodious, more or less soft or aggressive… constantly projected outwardly into our environment.

It reaches not only other humans, but animals, plants and beyond since we know from the work of Masaru Emoto that it is proven that water molecules respond to our thoughts and emotions.

It is significant to be aware that our presence has an impact on every one else in contact with us—humans, animals, plants and everything else that receives the energetic imprint of our presence; and, conversely, who project their own.

That awareness is self-awareness (in a good sense) and part of conscious living. A lack of that awareness is likely to present in behaviors from caustic relationships with others to a lack of sensitivity for our ecological environment.

Fourth, what we commonly perceive with our physical senses and intellect is never the whole picture.

Example: The physical body hides the presence of vital-energy from our physical senses and “common sense.” In short, what appears is not the full reality. True of us. True of others, thus the importance of the practicing “holistic” approach.

It is a key principle in all energy medicines but should apply to all aspects of our lives starting with our relationship with others.

It means that to discover the real picture we need to look beyond the appearance, beyond the obvious, and see the person as a whole being and to evaluate any situation within its broader context.

Fifth, all human emotions can be placed on a spectrum defined by two sets of fundamentally opposite qualities.

On the one hand, we have love and its many manifestations: respect, civility, patience, tenderness, compassion, empathy, and the various altruistic expressions.

On the other hand, there is fear, anger, hate, jealousy, and the many expressions of selfishness.

That which tends toward love is referred to as among the higher emotions and that which tends toward fear is referred to as among the lowest emotions. This has been expressed in modern language as the “positive energies” and the “negative energies.”

All the great moral and social philosophers and all the major spiritual teachers throughout the ages have spoken of this. For some, it is the law of karma. For others, it is the Golden Rule–“do unto others as you would have them to unto you,” or “as you sow, so shall you reap.”

The wisdom of the ages, religious or not, is now proven by science. It clearly tells us that the so-called positive energies are more beneficial to us and others than are the negative energies.

Positive energy promotes more positive energy and negative energy promotes more negative energy.

This is magnified in groups as collective consciousness that becomes an energy of its own affecting anyone in its sphere of influence. It is visible in religious groups as much as it is visible in political ones, and it affects the nation’s frame of mind.

Yes, you could object by pointing to the approach illustrated in older Judaic scriptures, “an eye for an eye.” That was the common wisdom expressing a self-preservation state of consciousness some 3,500 to 4,000 years ago.

But a higher level of consciousness was taught some 2,000 years ago by a Jewish rabbi of Nazareth who preached: “Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

This precept is found in just about all authentic spiritual teachings. It is also the altruism found in the great humanists, be they believers, agnostics or atheists. It is the higher wisdom that “conscious living” attempts to promote. It benefits us, others, and our environment.

Conversely, fear, anger, hate, jealousy and selfishness are not only destructive to our environment and to our relationships, they poison our own essence and substance, slowly destroying our own fabric, causing sickness and misery.

Jesus, in his seminal Sermon on the Mount, taught to an astonished audience that sinning is not simply in the act (i.e. stealing, adultery, killing) but also in the emotions and thoughts of desire, anger, selfishness.

This idea was expressed 2,000 years earlier by Taoist sages and their practical notion of Traditional Chinese Medicine, that sickness can be created by negative emotions. It makes even more sense when you learn that the term sin was a translation of the Aramaic idea (Aramaic being the form of Jewish language actually spoken by Jesus) meaning, missing the mark. In other words the “missing of the mark” is a fundamental error, a mistake, a not knowing the truth.

It is not only relative to the rules of religion, but of conscious living. It is the boomerang that returns to hit us unaware.

Learn to Learn from Your Skin and Vital Energy

Skin_and_Water.jpg

Your body is not only anatomically and physiologically complex, it’s energetically complex. Unseen vital energy that flows throughout all parts of your body is a form of intelligent communication. It links your physical body to the invisible energetic fields that encompass your being. The by-product of that interaction reflexively point to areas of the body that are out of balance.

The energetic blueprint you received at birth from the cosmic and telluric energies that prevailed at the moment you were born were added to the energies inherited from your parents (ancestral energies), and like everyone else, you are affected by a number of cyclical energetic patterns.

There is a daily flow of energies within your body and a yearly flow of energetic seasons.

There is also the cycle of life with the sequence of five 15-year phases that start with the Wood element at birth and the other five 15-year cycles that start with the element of the biorhythm of your birth.

All this can be utterly overwhelming, yet in practical terms, it simply boils down to maintaining a balance of your vital energy.

Reading your skin and body shape should lead you to select the balancing skincare products you need along with appropriate balancing treatments whenever you can. Lifestyle adjustments may also become necessary however this can be journey of self-discovery. Make it so!

We can learn from our skin and respect it for the tell-tale signs it gives us. Consequently, it cannot be excessively stripped–mechanically or with acids–injected with chemicals, cut, stretched, and sewn, without consequences.

Likewise, what we eat, drink, breathe, and how we exercise our bodies or not will have consequences on our health as much as our skin.

Our thoughts, emotions, and intent, affect our energetic system, and as a result, our physical being.

Skincare is not only caring for our body but for our entire being. This is why skincare must truly be a holistic proposition. Anything else is either neglectful or a shortcut with potentially undesirable consequences.

With knowledge comes the opportunity to take charge of your wellness. The exigencies and circumstances of modern life are very destabilizing, but with knowledge, our ability to maintain balance—mental, emotional, and physical— becomes that much greater.

It’s entirely up to you. Make sure you enjoy the process!

In your body, you have an interconnected system of subtle lines and vortices of energy that both emanate from and support the denser molecular matter of your physical body. These lines or channels of energy are called nadir in the Ayurvedic system of medicine of India. The vortices where the energetic channels converge to support the internal and external structures of the body are called chakras. All forms of non-Westernized medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, and indigenous cultures around the world acknowledge that a vital life-force energy creates and sustains physical life… there is an invisible force that ebbs and flows within all living things and is the animating force of creation, sustenance, and destruction.

Energy Fields and Social Coherence

Each of us is a state of consciousness made of energy. When we come into contact with the energy field of another a mutual exchange occurs. We have a social responsibility to the sentient beings we influence by our energetic state of consciousness. So we should always strive to keep our energy fields beautiful so that the gift of ourselves we offer the world is always beautiful.

We consistently write on this site about our energetic reality and how it affects our lives. Most of you know that the idea that the body is not only matter but vital energy. This truth has origins in India and in China going back several millennia.

The Western world has mostly ignored this fundamental idea that the body is not just matter but vital energy as well. Although when quantum physics and quantum chemistry revealed the fundamental fact that matter is ultimately energy vibrating at speeds that make it appear as solid and liquid, people in the West have begun to pay attention.

Westerners are more and more beginning to recognize that vital matter is made vital by the presence and intelligent activity of vital energy.  We can now measure that vibrational activity with highly sophisticated equipment.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has a particularly practical model known as the Five Elements Theory to explain the workings of not only our environment but our physical and emotional bodies. Energy medicines have in common this holistic approach that pays attention to physical, emotional and behavioral symptoms.

HeartMath Institute, a non-profit organization whose objective is to help the development of “heart-brain-coherence” says, “The Spiritual Heart is in a way a little like a smartphone, invisibly connecting us to a large network of information. It is through an unseen energy that the heart emits that humans are profoundly connected to all living things. The energy of the heart literally links us to each other. Every person's heart contributes to a 'collective field environment.' This short video explains the importance of this connection and how we each add to this collective energy field. The energetic field of the heart even connects us with the earth itself.”

We recommend you take a few minutes to watch this video from HeartMath Institute, a short white-board video for a unique understanding of coherence and social coherence. See how they make sense within your circle of family and friends and today’s global community.

When individuals are not well self-regulated or are acting in their own interests without regard to others, it generates social incoherence. Stressful or discordant conditions in a given group act to increase emotional stress among its members and can lead to social pathologies such as violence, abuse, inefficacy, increased errors, etc. It has become increasingly clear that the leading sources of stress for adults are money issues and the social environment at work. More than 9 in 10 adults believe that stress can contribute to the development of major illnesses such as heart disease, depression and obesity, and that some types of stress can trigger heart attacks and arrhythmias. While awareness about the impact stress can have on emotional and physical health seems to be present, many working Americans continue to report symptoms of stress with 42% reporting irritability or anger, 37% fatigue, 35% a lack of interest, motivation or energy, 32% headaches and 24% upset stomachs due to stress.
